Kinetic Sports Nutrition and Performance is a blog intended to give you
recipes, workouts, race reviews, and a myriad of helpful sports
nutrition information to help you reach your potential as an athlete,
weekend warrior, first time triathlete, recreational runner, or whatever
you consider yourself!
Recipes consisting of whole, real food will be posted each week. Some
are from other bloggers or websites, and some are twists of others'
recipes. I usually avoid most canned foods, preservatives, additives,
refined sugar and flour, and mushrooms (not a fan of those, sorry
mushroom lovers). So take comfort in knowing these recipes can be added
to your weekly or monthly rotation as a great, healthy option.
Workouts, and the reason for doing specific workouts will also be posted
on a regular basis. I will mostly focus on biking and running
workouts. Occasionally, I will throw in some swim, plyometric, or
strength/core workouts.
You will also find race reviews on this blog. Anything from 5k,
triathlon, ultra marathons, to cycling relays, half marathons, etc. You
get the idea, any kind of race! The purpose of this is twofold.
First, to read what others are testing and trying with their nutrition
during races. There is so much to learn from other athletes, and it's
great to learn from others' mistakes or successes on your way to
figuring out what works best for you. Second, this past year when I
have been deciding what races to do, I have thought, "I wish I could ask
a bunch of people who have done this race what they think of the
course, organization, etc." So hopefully we can get tons of races on
here for the next time you are wondering what races are the best to do.
There will also be articles related to sports nutrition, training tips,
and basic exercise science principles that will help you better
understand your body and the training process.
Thanks for reading and happy eating/training!
